Circle Connect

Data We Collect

Circle Connect collects your verified Waseda University email address, display name, academic year, preferred language, optional circle-interest preferences, and bookmarked circles. If you link Google, we also receive the Google account email address and basic profile information Google provides for sign-in. We do not request Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, payment, or other sensitive content.

Purpose

Collected data is used solely to provide circle discovery and authentication services at Waseda University. Linked Google information is used only to sign you in to your existing verified Waseda profile and does not replace Waseda verification. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account removes your profile, bookmarks, and linked sign-in identities. Some associated content (such as posts) may be anonymized rather than deleted.

Third Parties

Supabase — Supabase (database and authentication) — data stored in AWS ap-southeast-2 (Sydney).
Vercel — Vercel (application hosting) — requests served via Vercel's global CDN.
Google (optional sign-in provider) — Provides your account email address and basic profile information for authentication. Circle Connect does not request Gmail, Google Drive, or Google Calendar content.
Have I Been Pwned — New-password screening uses only the first five characters of a password hash, sent through our server. Your password, full hash, email address and IP address are not sent to Have I Been Pwned.
